I am assuming you get stuck when it asks you to transfer your settings from another mac. This is because it can’t find a working network card and crashes.
basically you need to go into safemode type in some stuff to bypass the welcome setup screen and then reassign the root password.
For some reason you can’t change the root password the way they are describing in the link above. You need to reset the root password through the OS installation utility.
none of the internet options work unless you install it with a usb wireless device… the guide is the same as the snow leopard netbookmaker for the mini 1000. The only thing you need to know is what I said above.
How soon does the guide come? – I hear that the guide is comming on feew places but I cant find it now were..

And now my boot loader got to crap = need re installation..
I’ve tried many methods (iBoot, netbookbootmaker, etc.) but always encountered the EBIOS error. I even installed SL to an external USB hard drive on another netbook, there is still the same EBIOS error upon booting on the Mini 5101.

I would be interested as well in the possibility of installing snow leo on the HP Mini 5101. I tried the HP Mini 1000 guide but I get always stuck.

Looking for guide to succesfull install SL on 5101. Can install with Boot-132 USB, but 5101 can’t boot without USB…

I installed vanilla (10.6.0) via 8GB usbstick, then chameleon 2.0 RC3 for booting ==> OK
