First of all, big kudos for an excellent job on the HP mini Snow Leopard guide, by far the best one out there.
I followed this guide to install on a HP Mini 110-1036NR. The installation was flawless, not one problem. HOWEVER, once installed there is no audio, Ethernet, wifi and restart hangs every time. Shut down works. I tried with the NetbookBootMaker .82 as well as with NetbookBootMaker .83 and same result.
Question: Since my mini is booting into SN wouldn’t I just need to patch it with the compatible kext? Or do I need to follow a different install method all together?
Yeah, same here as well. Frustrating as hell. I tried removing the corresponding kext but that didn’t help any. Not sure if I’m rebuilding the cache properly.
There may be a resolution is fetching yourself a HPET doing a part of the install procedure listed on osxhpmini.info ;
This all occurs after installation of the OSX media ( usually a USB drive ) and before the first start of the OS from HDD:
12. The install should then proceed. After sitting at the install screen for a while, your computer will automatically reboot. If you let it go, it will tell you migration assistant cannot run due to the screen size and then it will continue to load OS X. You do not want this to happen, So hit Enter as soon as the boot loader appears and starts counting down.
13. Once you’ve hit Enter, you’ll be able to enter a command. Enter “-s” without quotes and hit Enter once again.
14. Wait for all the text to skim by until it stops. Then, type “/sbin/fsck –fy” without quotes and press Enter.
15. Once it says “File System was modified.” Type “/sbin/mount –uw /” without quotes, but with the spaces.
These two steps ( 14 and 15 ) will do the trick I assume.
Has anyone resolved the wireless not working on the HP Mini 110 using Snow Leo? I get hung up on restart as well. But I just need the wireless to work.
Hey guys, sorry to join in late, but I’ve just gotten Snow Leopard to install on an HP Mini 110-1025dx and I believe it will also work for other 110 series, sleep and ethernet are the only things that don’t work. I had to swap out the wifi card for the same one as the 1000 series. But to clarify Webcam, Sound, Wifi, Keyboard, Trackpad, and Battery meter(inaccurate below 50% level) work. I will be writing a guide soon and will update you guys when I post it. I’ll also try to post a video on youtube on how I installed it. If you have any questions, let me know!!

We are still looking for someone to put one together; a “concrete” version that is. Until then, MyHPMini.com has some guides for it.

is there a way to shrink my main windows 7 partition on the hp 110 mini and then create a new bootable partition for the installation of OS X?
i principally want to play with mac os x rather than switch over to it completely.
thanks!
